Sorry, I missed the original post. We'd prefer a plugin and would love to put it up on http://cookbook.hobocentral.net/plugins. We would of course be very happy to merge anything necessary to make such a plug in possible, provide of course that we don't have any technical issues with the patch.
If it's not possible to create a plugin, we would be open to the idea of merging in your changes. It will be much more likely if devise becomes an optional dependency rather than a required one.

P.S., it's probably simpler to start with modifying Hobo and show it to us then. We can decide at that point whether it's worth the effort to make it into a plugin. I know that you're not the only ones interested in this, so feel free to send us incomplete work rather than letting it drop.
