Inheritance (STI) models: name not propagating

I'm trying out STI and am writing up my experiences in a Recipe. I'm using Hobo 0.8.5
My base model doesn't have an explicit name, it's specified by adding :name => true to the field definition. However, this name does not propagate to my child models -- I have to add an explicit "name" function to the child models.

I have a fix for this in my hobo fork. It's on my list of things to merge back once I get a free minute.
