alias in belongs_to (hobofields)

class Project < ActiveRecord::Base
belongs_to :user
belongs_to :owner, :class_name => 'User'
end
HoboMigration creates two fields user_id, and owner_id. But owner is alias for user_id

Hi. I don't understand what "But owner is alias for user_id" means. Can you clarify?

Then remove the second belongs_to declaration and alias the first's method. Though why do you need a second method to access one variable?
